What is the difference between rooted and grafted?

This grafted orange tree is truly one of a kind! As the orange ripens, it sweetens and turns a deep red color, hence the "blood" in the name!  Hot summer days and cool nights help to deepen the color of the fruit, which is caused by pigments called anthocyanins. Harvest is typically in the late fall but can happen any time of the year with an indoor potted tree!

Great for new growers or growers with some experience with plants

Moro blood oranges are subtly sour with a hint of sweetness and a dark red pigmented flesh

Lower rates of fruit production than other potted citrus trees, but large fruits

3-4 feet in a 3-gallon container

Light requirement: 6 hours minimum, but 8+ hours preferred

Fruit flavor: subtly sour with a hint of sweetness

Fruit size: large, baseball-sized

Fruiting season: spring, but ripens in the winter

Time before fruiting: 9-12 months

We're different from other sellers.

  • Transparency

We use photos of our actual products so you know what you're ordering. None of that small print stuff.

  • Customer service

We are here to help every step of the way. Have a question before you purchase? A year later? Reach out! We love talking about plants anyway.

  • Small business in Wisconsin

We aren't a big corporation that pays the big boss and takes from the little guy. Just a family-run small business in Sun Prairie, WI.

  • Indoor fruiting trees

Our trees never have to be planted in the ground unless you want to. That means they can be grown from any location - as long as they have enough light, of course. Hello, fresh lemonade!
